COVID-19 Update (6th May 2021)

We have loved having Youth back on a Friday night, especially after an extended and unprecedented season, we are loving coming together as a Youth ministry every Friday night. Like most activities in the community that are starting to re-engage, there are guidelines we must adhere to in order to maintain a safe environment for our Youth ministry and the broader community.

FORCE (Junior High Years 6-8) – 6:30pm-9:00pm
CHOSEN (Senior High Years 9-12) – 6:30pm-9:00pm

ST ANDREWS CAMPUS: (Years 6-12) – 6:30pm – 9:30pm

At our Sutherland Campus We run Force and Chosen programs separately to ensure our numbers are within the government guidelines of 400 people.
To allow our team the opportunity to adequately clean the venue between services, we encourage you to not arrive too early or to hang around. We respectfully ask you to please continue maintaining social distancing requirements outside the church building. Our program is flexible and will be adapted to ensure we are adhering to all COVIDSafe regulations. Our program this Friday will be held in the Horizon auditorium and we will also allocate time for Life Group.

Checking in at this moment for all our age groups is essential for contact tracing purposeses and in order to comply with Government guidelines your name and contact details must be provided. You may check in for the friday night program at the main doors our team will be waiting.
Once checked in, you’ll receive an wrist band. Please wear this for the remainder of the night to ensure leaders know you have been accounted for.

Face masks are mandatory in all indoor public settings including places of worship. Children under 12 are exempt but are encouraged to wear masks where practicable. We kindly request you bring your own mask and ensure it is worn at all times while on site at Horizon Church.

Masks can be purchased from supermarkets, chemists, Bunnings, and convenience stores. We ask that you sanitise reusable masks in between use or dispose of any single use masks that you use.

      No congregational singing or dancing

Congregational singing and dancing is not permitted in places of worship.

      Venue Capacity

Restrictions are eased for churches in NSW, allowing for 1 person per 2sqm onsite.

Horizon Church has been approved as a “COVID Safe Organisation”. Our staff have completed the Australian Government Department of Health COVID-19 Infection Control Training and our volunteers have been trained in our COVID Safe Practices.

We have appointed and trained a COVID Safe Team who have been managing our COVID Safe Response.  These team members are easily identifiable on-site during services wearing their blue high-vis vests.

We’ve undertaken a review of our processes to ensure we are demonstrating excellence in our church environment.  Cleaning frequency has been increased and our venue will receive a thorough clean with hospital grade disinfectant in-between every service.  There will be no printed materials, offering containers or communion passed around during service.  Individual commercially packaged communion packs will be available for collection upon arrival at church.

Please remember our teams will be maintaining good social distancing practices and will continue to avoid hand to hand contact and hugs.  But not to worry, we will be there to greet you with a warm smile, a big wave or even a foot bump! You will notice some seats and rows are blocked out of service, so please sit with your household or close contacts in the seats we have made available to ensure we meet compliance.

Hand sanitiser stations have been installed at our main entry & exit points and sanitiser is readily available right throughout the building so please make use of it!

To maintain a safe worship environment, we kindly ask that if any of the following apply to you, please do not attend the service:

      • If you feel unwell or are experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19 (eg: fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, sneezing/runny nose or loss of sense of smell);
